Questions about procharger... Jan/13/2008 00:30
Hey guys I have a question for you. I have a 2005 Mustang Gt with a procharger, diablo mafia, stage 2 snow perfromance, ford racing shorty header, x pipe and magnaflow exhaust. Now to give you a little run down me and my buddy back home in Kansas installed the procharger stage 2 kit, snow performance and mafia...Then by the recommendations of Procharger themselves we had MC Racing in Kansas City tune the car. It made 489 rwhp and 417 rwtq with an a/f ratio of 12.0 across the board.. Well needless to say the car ran great pulled hard and everything... Then we drove it back to Va and about the day after we got back to Va. Snow Performance called me and said that there was a recall on their controllers because they short out when they get wet. So I took that out and sent it off. Well while it was off I managed to get into an accident but most of the damage was to the suspension and body and then 2 intercooler pipes other than that nothing. Well just a few days ago I got my car back and my Snow Performance controller. But there seems to be a problem. I have the controller set on as low as it will go and for some reason it isnt coming on till about 4 psi... The other problem is that when I go and get on it pulls hard till 4 psi then starts spitting and sputtering but continues to pull. So what I was wondering is, if you guys had any idea what the problem might be... Oh yeah and I have the KB boost a pump set at 25%. Also when Im getting on it, of course it is only a short period of time because it is acting up the car goes to like 11.4 on the wideband a/f. I really have no clue what the issue could be because the only thing that has been changed at all since the tune is a new controller for the alcohol injection...I would really appreciate any help that you guys could get me... Also if you think the car needs to be re tuned how much would that run me...I have an excal 2 tuner all ready...

Thanks Again
Eric

Sounds like the Meth injection is spraying too much when it comes on at 4 psi...I'd give Snow a call

tuning on the dyno runs $220 per hour, and I would think your looking between 1-1.5 hours total.

I thought about that too but, I havent changed the jet. I had it tuned with the big one in. Do you think that it might be coming on to early??? I talked to snow and they gave me an adjustment to try. If that doesnt work is there anything that you guys would recommend. Alot of people are telling me that my 12.0 A/F ratio is a little high for what I am running. What is your guys opinion? Would you recommend a re tune???

from reading your first post, you were saying that the kit doesn't start spraying until 4psi and that the car pulls hard to 4 psi then starts breaking up. Sounds like as soon as the kit starts spraying you have issues... if the kit is spraying too much the car will start breaking up.

As far as the A/F goes, with the gas we have around here, we set most of the s/c 05-up cars to low 11's.

Alright well what I think I am going to do is go ahead and put the smaller nozzle in the car for now and then when I get the money I am just going to have you guys re tune the car anyway. That way I will have a tune for when I am back home and a tune for while I am in va...Im really hoping that I will be able to see over 500 at the wheels and still be safe. I also wrote you guys a pm asking you guys some questions. I really appreciate all of you guys help and look forward to having you guys tune my car in the near future.

I have another questions for you guys. I am thinking about putting the smaller nozzle for the alcohol injection in the car with its current tune. Untill I can get the money together to have you guys tune the car. What my question is would you guys see me running into any issues with the car and its current tune. The only thing I really know is its running 21 degrees of timing. That is about the only setting I know that he changed. I know there is more than that but that is the only thing Im aware of. I really do appreciate all of your guys help.
