STS turbo, and AEM fuel ignition controller instal Oct/16/2007 19:06

Let me intro my self. My name is Adam Ballreich. I own a 2005 Chevy cobalt LS. I'm currently interested in the STS Turbo universal system for my car. A friend recommended me to you guys. So far what I have done to my car is this: forged 8.9:1 pistons, forged rods, ferrera valves and spring kit, comp cams stage 1 cams, 3 angle valve job on the head, ARP head studs, ACL rod bearings, CAI, dyno tune 2 stage 125hp nitrous system.

I am aware of the tuning issues for the 2.2L cobalt. I have gone with the AEM fuel ignition controller (which I own but not installed) and have made an excel sheet formula/calculator for replacing the stock injectors with larger injectors.

My question is are you guys able to install the AEM f/ic, the STS turbo kit bought (by me of course) and install, and having you guys tune the AEM f/ic for the car and everything needed (afr gauge, boost gauge, ect ect).

Also I am currently on deployment and will be gone till February 29th. I'm inquiring so early so that I have enough time to locate other shops that can do this work. Also would need a timeframe of how long it would take to do this work

Millennium did my engine work and I must say they had the car for 6 months to do the work and I wasn’t happy with the end result (considering it came to well over $5,000 for the job). They left the front bumper support brace off the car and lost 2 bolts for the bumper support brace, they lost 2 bolts for the head cover, they didn’t connect the grounding strap to the head cover, and some how they lost the power cable for the alternator to the battery.

i have another question. I now have everything needed to complete this job. i know you guys told me that you can do custom bending of the charge piping.

Do you know a shop that can do the pipe bending? its getting closer to me being back from deployment and so far you guys are the only ones im trusting since you have STS experiance

we have a muffler shop around the corner from us, they should be able to make the bends for us.

Hello again.

Finaly a shop in washington has cracked my ECU and can tune the car. I was wondering when i could drop my car off to you guys to start the STS intsall.

Also Vince, the guy at trifecta performance, said that he hasnt tuned a 2.2 for any turbo system yet and this would be his first atempt. He requested that the turbo system be set up for 2psi of boost and slowly tune the car up for 10psi of boost.

I was wondering if you had a problem with the tuning be done this way. For some reason he wont sell the software to me to do the tuning and how it will happen is that we would make a run on the dyno at 2 psi of boost data log the info and send it to him via email and he would make a tune and send it back to me via email to load up on the GT Tuner, which is being shipped to me as we speak, and then load up that tune. And repeat process till we got the car to 10psi of boost.

Hey Adam,
can you send me back a copy of the original email that i sent to you? [email protected]

Refresh my memory, why aren't we tuning the car with HP Tuners? As long as they have software, we should be able to tune onsight with no problems.
The problem with doing the tuning the way the other guy wants to is the car would have to keep going on and off the dyno which would be a big expense for you. I'll check with Brent tomorrow and see if he can do this with HP.
